Contemporary Abstract Artist

For me, painting is an expression of the emotional heart and cluttered mind. 

Many years were spent painting within the confines of art classes and realism, yet there was always something missing.  It wasn't until I discovered abstract painting that I found the joy and freedom of expression I had been looking for all those years.  Abstract art is wonderfully chaotic and full of contradiction. 

I find it wonderful to start a new piece not knowing what will be painted, what colors will grace the canvas, what textures will be applied, and what tools will be used.  The paintings are not limited to paintbrushes, but explore many objects to provide the right texture and feeling I want to convey at that point in time.  It is always amazing to me to see the transition of the painting from start to finish, not knowing how it got there, yet absolutely loving the final product.
